Agostino Capponi is Professor at Columbia University's Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, where he directs the Center for Digital Finance and Technologies. His research applies mathematical modelling, network theory, and mechanism design to problems in decentralised finance and systemic risk.

Professor Capponi's work on DeFi protocol design, automated market makers, and blockchain-based financial infrastructure has been published in leading economics and finance journals. He has advised the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Bank for International Settlements on digital currency design and financial stability implications of DeFi.
