Jaya Josie is Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University, where he focuses on development economics, South-South cooperation, and the digital economy's role in structural economic transformation in the Global South. His research bridges Chinese and African development experiences to identify pathways for technology-driven inclusive growth.

Professor Josie's work examines how digital infrastructure, e-commerce platforms, and fintech can address persistent development challenges — from financial exclusion to informal economy formalisation. He brings a Global South perspective that ensures the Council's work reflects the priorities and realities of developing economies.
