Biography

Yulia Kharitonova is Professor at Moscow State University's Law Faculty, where she leads research on intellectual property in the digital economy, AI-generated content regulation, and the legal treatment of digital assets under civil law traditions. Her scholarship has shaped legal discourse on digital IP in Russian-speaking academic communities.

Professor Kharitonova's work on the intersection of intellectual property law and emerging technology — particularly around generative AI, NFTs, and digital content ownership — provides the Council with perspectives from civil law jurisdictions that differ fundamentally from common law approaches.
